This project seeks to present a new focal point for Nagoya University by taking advantage of the intersecting axes of the Yamate-dori Street and the green belt on which the existing university is planned. The building incorporates the latest technologies of the campus, functioning as a node for shared information and fostering interaction with foreign visitors, students, and professors. A gallery, restaurant, common area, meeting room, and information center open up to the green belt, which alongside the Toyoda Memorial Hall and Furukawa Memorial Hall, creates a legible core for the wider campus. The porous building volume encloses a pond and creates an interconnected environment that promotes social exchange.
