The Japanese contemporary architecture exhibition “Beyond Borders: Architectures of Japan” is being held at the Shenzhen Maritime World Culture and Arts Center, a cultural complex designed by Maki and Associates. This exhibition was jointly organized by the Japan Foundation with the Design Society (Shenzhen, China) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relation normalization between Japan and China. The carefully selected projects introduce a variety of large, small, permanent, and temporary buildings - connecting local and global themes - via models, drawings, photographs, and videos.
